Shelby Patrick is a Memphis, Tennessee native. Ms. Patrick attended Saint Agnes Academy before moving to Mississippi where she graduated from Magnolia Heights School in 2009. While living in Mississippi, Ms. Patrick took to helping her grandfather on the farm and breaking, training, and showing horses. Ms. Patrick moved back to Memphis to attend The University of Memphis for college. While in college, Ms. Patrick attended classes during the day and worked nights at a logistics company dispatching truck drivers across the country. Ms. Patrick graduated college in 2012 with a Bachelor of Art in Psychology, magna cum laude. After graduation, Ms. Patrick backpacked through Europe for a month navigating through seven countries with only a backpack and paper maps.
Ms. Patrick began attending the University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in 2014. While there, she served as the volunteer coordinator for the Public Action Law Society organizing clinics and fundraisers with the aim of helping low income Memphians with their legal issues. Ms. Patrick spent her time outside of the classroom as an intern to United States Chief Magistrate Jude Diane Vescovo, the United States Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Tennessee, and the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office. Ms. Patrick was a member of the University of Memphis Law Review honing her skills in legal research, writing, and argument. Additionally, Ms. Patrick participated in the 2017 Mock Trial Competition where she was awarded the Best Written Trial Motion Award. Ms. Patrick graduated law school in 2017.
Ms. Patrick joined the Shelby County District Attorney’s office in 2017 as an assistant district attorney. She spent three years in the domestic violence unit prosecuting cases ranging from domestic assault to murder. Ms. Patrick is experienced in litigation having fought for the victims of violent crime in the courtroom every day for nearly the last five years. She is passionate about standing up for what is right and giving a voice to those in need. Ms. Patrick joined NST in 2022 with the goal of bringing that same passion to fight for our clients and to ensure they are heard and fully compensated. Ms. Patrick practices in the areas of workers’ compensation, social security, automobile accidents, and personal injury litigation.
